Affiliate marketing is by far the fastest way to get started earning a living online. This is when you send visitors to someone else’s product sales page, they make the sale and deliver the product, earn at least a 50% commission

The benefits of this are

  1. You can get started almost immediately because you don’t have to create a product, write the sales page, design the website, develop marketing materials, or set up the ordering, billing & delivery system.
  2. There’s no time required on your part because the product owner does all the hard work of support, maintenance and billing.
  3. There’s no risk for you. The product owner has already done all the research , development and testing. So you know that your traffic will result in sales.

  2. You’ll be warming them up by providing valuable information and then casually linking to the product sales page in the context of this information.

In order to set a system like this up, you will need the following affiliate marketing tools:

  1. A squeeze page, and even better a Video squeeze page.
  2. At least a few pages of great content
  3. An email series with at least 5 high-quality content emails

You’ll use the squeeze page as the place to send your visitors instead of using the product website. It captures the name and email of your visitors and puts them into your autoresponder, which then begins sending out the 5-part email series. After subscribing them to your email list, it redirects them to your content mini-site.

The content pages provide valuable information for your visitors and make them more receptive to the sales message that you’ll link to from inside the content. While they’re reading the content you’ve provided, your email system is already following up with them to send them back to the product website again and again.

All of this together increases your chances of making the sale by up to 500% so it’s well worth the effort of setting it up. And once it’s set up, it runs automatically – you just send visitors to the squeeze page, instead of the product website.

Linking Strategies – Look Before You Link

It’s a well-known fact that getting good, high-quality, incoming links to your website can help boost your rankings in the search engines. But not all backlinks are created equal and some of them can even end up harming your website.

Buying Links. Google specifically states in their Webmaster Guidelines that “…buying links that pass PageRank can negatively impact a site’s ranking in the search results.” If you do decide to use this kind of strategy, the link that you’re purchasing must not pass PageRank on to you. In other words, the site linking to you should be “nofollow”.

Links from sites that have been banned in Google. While you can’t control who is linking to your site, you can help prevent some bad karma by choosing not to add your backlink to a site that is banned within Google. To find out if a site has been banned in Google, within the Google search box enter the word “site” followed by a colon (:) and then the URL of the website you’d like to get a link from. If nothing shows up in the search results, it’s likely that the site has been banned.

Links from the same location. If all of your inbound hyperlinks are coming from the same website, the search engines may choose to not consider those backlinks very important. Authoritative websites get links from many locations all over the Internet, not just one website.

Using the same anchor text. When you do start on your own link-building campaign, you will typically use the keywords for the web page you want to rank well in the search engines within the anchor text. However, using the same anchor text over and over without any variation makes the links appear un-natural. Therefore, use varying anchor text’s such as “click here” and your website’s URL.

Reciprocal Links. These do in fact, have their place. For example, if you are a member of your local Chamber of Commerce, they may place a link to your site on their page and in turn, you’ll link to them because you’ll want your site visitors to know that you are a member. However, when it comes to trading backlinks with relatively unknown sites, or sites that don’t yet have a whole lot of authority to them, will not likely increase your chances of where your site ranks in the search engines. Search engines like Google can find these very easily and they’re not considered as authoritative or as important as a one-way link.

Building links too quickly. Natural linking occur slowly. If your brand new website that had two sites linking to you yesterday all of a sudden has 500 today this will send up a red-flag to the search engines. So build them slowly and work on creating valuable and relevant content that people will want to link to.

Just remember, when you start to work on your linking strategy, be careful as to how you go about it. Not all links are created equal.
