3 More Techniques to Get Traffic for Affiliates

One of the most difficult things that we need to face as Internet marketers is getting traffic to our websites.  Although there are multiple ways for us to do this and some of them are quite effective, it can be difficult to handle everything that is necessary in order to make sure that this important task is done.  If you’re looking for more techniques to get traffic for affiliates, here are a few of my favorite methods that I make sure to use on a regular basis.

If I am just launching a new website and I want to get some traffic to it immediately, I will use pay per click marketing.  This is not necessarily something that is for everyone because you do have to put out an initial outlay of money, which can be difficult for some people who are starting on a shoestring budget.  You might be surprised, however, that you really don’t need all that much money in order for you to get started effectively.  What you do need to do is to make sure that your landing pages are right on target with your keywords and that you use effectively written ads.  This will get you the most amount of clicks and Google will reward you with lower costs.

Another thing that you may want to try is forum marketing.  This is an excellent way for you to get targeted traffic to a brand-new website and to give yourself a little boost in the search engines at the same time.  If you decide to do this, however, you need to make sure that you approach it properly.  Forums are online communities and many of the members of these communities protect their property from invaders.  You need to make sure that you are seen as a member of the community and not as an unwanted invader.  Do this by leaving useful comments and answers to people’s questions.  If they like what you have to say on the forum, they will naturally follow the link back to your website.

Finally, you might want to try your hand at article marketing.  This is one of the more popular ways for people to attract traffic to affiliate pages and it is popular for a very good reason, it works.  Write articles surrounding long tail keyword phrases and submit them to the article directories.  If you are persistent in doing this, you would be surprised at the amount of traffic you will receive.

Traffic, Traffic, Who’s Got the Traffic?

An author of the last century penned the famous line “no man is an island”. When this is applied to the
world of computers it is doubly truthful. It matters not how many hours you spent designing your
website nor how enticing and appealing the graphics are when it sits day after day waiting for visitors.
You must build a bridge to your “island” to gain any foothold at all in Internet rankings. Build the
bridge as carefully and effectively as you built your website and the reward will be improvement in
your SERPS and increased traffic will follow.

While it is conceivable that your website will be an absolute traffic magnet from the date of launch you
will probably have to work to entice visitors to your pages. Advertisement is definitely a method of
procuring traffic to your URL. If you were operating a brick and mortar off-line store one of the
available methods of advertising would be billboards. Large or small a billboard is simply a manner in
which you avail people to the benefits of what you are selling. It is obvious that you cannot erect a
billboard on the Internet to carry your message.

Or is it? One effective on-line billboard is thepurchase of an ad block on other website pages. Or go to Google, Adbrite and others with a PPC campaign which definitely will have people knocking on your URL door. These methods demand a monetary output which you may not be able to afford. So why not use the free Internet billboard–”link-trading”.

Properly used the exchange of links is an inexpensive and effective method of advertising your website.
Your objective is to get your URL in front of as many websites and potential visitors and in a minimal
time. The starting block is your own site. The content you display needs to be as accurate and
attractive as can be. Your goal is to get another web master to link to you and if you present quality
then this task is much simpler.

The content on your site should be of value to the sites you desire to
link with. It may be necessary to add a few tips, articles, recipes or something else that will attract
another website to your link. Of course this also holds true in reverse. If your site is in great order for
your niche then seek out others with the same or higher caliber of content.

When the time arrives to contact other sites be persistent. The content you have may be the best stuff
since sliced bread (or at least you think so) but this does not mean that all other web masters will link
directly to your site. Be persistent in your search. In your search for links time will be your greatest
expenditure, and probably your cheapest.

Remember that link trading will work as a word-of-mouth form of advertising. When you receive and satisfy a visitor through a traded link you increase your traffic through that visitor when they pass your link on to friends, relatives or others involved in the same niche of marketing.
